This book is about Liesel Meminger, a foster child who lives in a town called Molching in Nazi Germany. Her stepmother, Rosa Hubermann, is the disciplinary parent, the one who punishes Liesel, but truly does love her. Her stepfather, Hans, might as well be her real father. She builds such a strong relationship with him, and he teaches her a very important skill that ties in with one of her own. Rudy Steiner, her best friend and partner in crime, helps her with quite a lot...

When Liesel was on her way to Molching, her brother died aboard the train, and his death really impacted her. Liesel and her mother attended his funeral, and she noticed something in the snow. Buried in the snow was a book, and without a thought, Liesel took it. She couldn't read, but seeing this book reminded her of her brother.

Liesel and Rudy had committed one unbelievable crime countless times-thievery. Liesel and Rudy stole many books, from Nazi book-burnings, the mayor's house, and really anywhere they could find a book. Hans Hubermann provided her with a skill that would be very helpful-he taught Liesel how to read. She came to love and hate words because they had given Hitler his one true power, but they also provided knowledge and enjoyment.

So many things happen in this story. For example, Liesel meets some unexpected people along her journey, like Max Vandenburg, the Jewish fist-fighter, who changes her for the better. Some young boys even help to provide Liesel with food, as long as she steals it. And Rudy Steiner becomes a bigger part of her life, bigger than what she imagined. Fallout by Ellen Hopkins

Hey everybody! Here is that last book in the Crank series...

This story, which takes place a few years in the future, is not told from the perspective of Kristina. Instead, it is told by her three eldest children, Hunter, Autumn, and Summer. Within the course of a few years, Kristina had five children (the youngest are David and Donald) and has been with many differnt guys. Each child has their own story, that somehow relates to each other.

Hunter was introduced in the first book as a baby. In Fallout, he is nineteen years old. He lives with Kristina's mother Marie and her father Scott. From the first book, it is known that Hunter was the product of rape, but his family does not quite know if this. Kristina never directly admitted it. He does not know who his father is, but does know Kristina from her somewhat annual visits. He works on the radio and is dating an amazing girl named Nikki.

Autumn is the daughter of Kristina and Trey. She lives in Texas with her Aunt Cora and her grandfather. Autumn has OCD, and likes for things to be organized. She starts to date Bryce, a new student at her school, who teaches her so much. When Aunt Cora gets married, she leaves Autumn, and she has trouble adjusting to this. She only sees Bryce when sneaking out, and she feels very alone.

In the beginning of the story, Summer is introduced. Hopkins does not tell a lot about Summer, who doesn't even know her roots. She bounces from foster home to foster home, never being able to have a place to call her own. Eventually, she lives with her father and a woman named Kortni, but is later sent back to a foster home after her father was busted for DUI. Summer is a transcendentalist and is not afraid to speak her mind.

All these children know little to nothing about each other. But they are all connected by one thing. Kristina.

What happens to them, and to Kristina? Can she finally overcome the monster? How much has she influenced her children's lives? And will all the children ever unite? Read to find out.

Glass by Ellen Hopkins

Hello!!

In the second book of the Crank series, Kristina continues her battle with the monster. She discovers glass, crystal meth, that will keep you buzzed and feeling great even longer. She hooks up with many more guys, still trying to find love. The monster is too strong, not only overpowering Kristina's life, but even seperating her family. She has been kicked out of her house, and her mother and Scott watch over the baby. What can she do? Will she ever learn to give up glass? Can she ever be with Hunter, her baby, without harming him?

I'm so sorry that I couldn't give much of a summary. I didn't want to give it all away, so all you have to do is read to find out. I know, I need a new cliche. Buh-bye!!!

Crank by Ellen Hopkins

A ton of my friends have read this book, so I decided to do the same. It was a good choice :)

Kristina. Bree. Same person, but completely different. Kristina is the good girl, smart and full of potential. Bree is the risky type, brewing up trouble with things that Kristina would never do. Kristina has always been in control because Bree never existed, until she stayed at her dad's house for a few weeks.

Is it possible to go from such a sweet good girl to someone who enjoys attention from guys in only a few days. Guess so, because Kristina did. When she went to stay at her dad's she feel instantly for this guy, Adam, otherwise known as Buddy. They hit it off, fell in love, and this is when Bree came about. Adam introduced her to crank, or meth, and this turned her world upside down. Bree became hooked, and when it was time to return to her mother's, there were some difficulties.

She loved Adam, without a doubt, and now, he was gone. He told her to see other guys, that she had his permission, despite their love for each other. But Bree didn't need permission; she was after the lifeguard, Brendan and the bad-boy, Chase. Brendan, on the outside, seemed sweet, but on the inside, sex was the only thing that crossed his mind. Chase was the bad-boy, but turned out to be the nicest guy in the world, next to Adam. All three are very different guys, but they all have one thing in common: they've been hooked by the monster.

How can Bree live if Chase and Brendan can't provide it for her? How can she live past her powerful addiction to the monster? And will Kristina ever overcome Bree? Read to find out.

My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult

I'm back! Just posted about a week ago, but this book was amazing, and I was addicted to it(:

Jesse and Kate. Two normal, beautiful children. Until Kate is diagnosed with leukemia when she was two years old. When Kate needed operations for bone marrow and many other things, Sara and Brian (their parents) needed someone who would be a donor to her. This donor would need to be the perfect match for Kate, otherwise the transplant wouldn't work. And that's how Anna was brought into the picture.

Anna was conceived through in vitro fertilization, so she would be a perfect match for her sister. Immediately after her birth, her umbilical blood was given to Kate. This would be one of the many medical procedures involving Anna.

Anna is thirteen. Kate is sixteen. Anna starts to develop her own thoughts and opinions, and is willing to fight for them, as every young woman begins to do at this time. When Kate is in need of a kidney transplant, Anna puts her foot down. She doesn't want to go through another surgery (she's already had eight) and deal with terrible side effects that could harm her. She doesn't want to be cut open again, without voicing her opinion. Anna realizes that someone needs to represent her, to help her get her point across. She hires a lawyer named Campbell Alexander to help her file a law suit against her parents for medical emancipation, or the rights to her own body.

Jodi Picoult wrote this novel with a style different from most authors. The main characters become the narrators, and the story switches off into their own perspective. The narrators are Anna, Jesse, Sara, Brian, Campbell Alexander, Julia (Anna's guardian ad litem), and one very unexpected person.

Everyone, including Anna, knows one thing for sure: If Anna does not go through with the surgery, if she is medically emancipated, then Kate will die. There isn't much time left. Would you try to save someone, even if it meant putting your own life on the line?

In Cold Blood by Truman Capote

In Cold Blood tells the tragic story about the murder of the Clutter family, which by the way, really did happen. The Clutter family consisted of Mr. Herb Clutter, Mrs. Bonnie Clutter, their daughters (even though only Nancy had been murdered), and there one son, Kenyon. Two of the Clutter children had previously moved out and got married, so they were not victims to this tragic situation.

This story is written in a very clever way. It starts as if it were a normal day. The Clutters were still alive, going about there day, without even knowing it was their last. Then, the story switches off to two men, Perry and Dick. These men are the murderers of the Clutter family. Their days and preparation of the murder is also written.

After the murder, Perry and Dick leave the scene, to live out their dream in Mexico. When the Clutters are discovered, everyone in Holcomb fears for their life. They wonder if they are next. Perry and Dick were smart men, leaving almost no evidence behind. Detectives have a hard time finding out who the killers were.

Everyone wants to know, what possessed these men to kill the Clutter family? Read to find out!

Fire by Kristin Cashore

So everyone, do you remember Kristen Cashore? The woman who wrote Graceling? Well, this is her companion book!

The story is centered around a young girl named Fire, who is the last of her kind. She is a human monster, like her father had been, and this is extremely troubling for her. Raptor monsters, insect monsters, and the like all want her blood. Fire is also appealing to humans because she is extremely beautiful. She covers her hair, so no man can be tempted by her looks. She even can completely take over one's mind, but refuses to use her powers in this manner.

In the Dells, King Nash is struggling to hold onto his throne while rebels are soon to send armies to try and defeat him. The Dells are at stake, and could crumple any minute, but no one knows which enemy may attack.

When a mysterious archer shoots Fire by accident, she senses some suspicion. She cannot grasp at his mind, and she does not know where he was from, or if he really tried to shoot him. Even more mysterious, he is killed later that night.

Fire eventually makes her way to King's City with Archer, her friend, and try to be of as much help as possible. Prince Brigan has so much hatred towards Fire, and in the beginning even despises her. Everyone tries to save the kingdom and learn more about this mysterious archer. Can the kingdom be saved? And will anyone ever learn of this archer and his purpose?

I know, not my best post, but still, the book rocks!

Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins

Hi everyone! I know it's been awhile, but guess what! I FINISHED MOCKINGJAYYYY(:

In the last book of the Hunger Games Trilogy, Katniss Everdeen agrees to be District 13's Mockingjay, and in turn, Peeta and the other living victors will be released from the rebels. And Katniss wants to kill President Snow herself. When District 13 has finally kidnapped Peeta, they realize something is wrong when he tries to strangle Katniss. Turns out he has been hijacked by the rebels. This makes all of his memories of Katniss be distorted, and make it seem like Katniss is the villain.

Peeta is sent to recovery, and no one knows if he will ever be the same again. As for the attack of the Capitol, it is underway, but can they really match up to Snow? Will Peeta ever be the same? And Katniss, she needs to make a choice, that is, if Peeta ever recovers. Will she choose Peeta, the boy she loves for show, or Gale, her best friend? As I like to say, read to find out.

I know, kinda short, but I don't want to give away any spoilers! Hope you enjoy the book as much as I did :)

Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer

Hi everybody!! I know I haven't posted in a long time, but this book took me a long time to read. This was my free choice book for my summer reading homework. For the record, this is a true story.

Jon Krakauer tells the true story of a boy named Christopher Johnson McCandless, otherwise known as Alexander Supertramp. After Chris graduated from Emory, he gave $25,000 of his savings to a charity called OXFAM, abandoned his car, and literally set fire to all the money in his pocket. He went by the name Alex, and thus created a new life for himself.

Chris had always wanted to go to Alaska, ever since he was little, and live off the wild. Many people knew of his dream, and they tried to talk Chris out of going, but his mind was made. He was going to Alaska. Chris was always a smart kid, and people thought that he could have pulled this off. About four months after leaving, a decomposed body was found in the Alaskan wilderness. Sure enough, the body was Christopher McCandless's. Why would Chris have gone out into the wild like this? He must have known something would have happened to him. Did he have any issues with his family/friends? And how did he die? Read Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer to find out.

The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman

Hi everybody!!!! So my next post is on The Graveyard Book. It was a really good book, and even though I found myself getting lost in the beginning, everything seemed to tie together by the end. I found myself getting confused, and sometimes, because of this, I would get bored. But by the end, it was really really really good! One thing that really caught my eye was that there are picture in the book!! And have you all seen and/or heard of the movie Coraline??? Well, Neil Gaiman wrote that book!! So here we go....

The story starts with a family of four sleeping in their home during the night. Everything seems perfectly fine until the man Jack enters the scene. He has come to kill the family with his knife. He manages to kill the parents and a young girl, and all he has left is the baby. When he gets to the crib, the baby is gone!

The child had crawled out of bed and made his way to the graveyard close by. Mister and Mistress Owens, two ghosts, find the baby, and they raise him. Silas, who neither is a part of the living or the dead, becomes his guardian.

The problem is that this baby needs to live in the graveyard among the dead, otherwise the man Jack will surely kill him. But first, he requires the Freedom of the Graveyard to live with the ghosts. And fortunately, he is granted it.

Years go by, and the man Jack still has not found him, but danger has come young child's way as he grows up in the graveyard. He has met the Sleer, the Indigo Man, a witch named Liza Hempstock, and even made his way on occasion into the world of the living. If he keeps this up, the man Jack will find him.

And who really is Mr. Frost???

Paper Towns by John Green

So hello everyone!!!! The next book that I read was Paper Towns by John Green. For the record, it was amazing....=]

This book is about Quentin Jacobsen, the senior in high school who hangs around with the band geeks. When he was younger, he had a best friend, named Margo Roth Spiegelman. When the two were about nine-ten years old, they were in the park, and they spotted something very unusual. Margo's reaction to this sight was quite peculiar. This scene changed both of their lives, especially Margo's.

Quentin, or Q, had always loved Margo from at a distance. As the two drifted apart, Margo got a boyfriend, and Q never stopped loving her. They did not hang out anymore and had no real connection, until Margo Roth Spiegelman shows up at Q's window in the night asking for his mother's car. Not only is Q confused, but his decision changes that night drastically. So what is Margo up to? Will their friendship be reunited? Q's love for her addressed?

After the night, Margo disappears. She has done this before, but this time is different. She has always been sneaky and leaving clues for her parents to find her, but now, it is Quentin's job. The clues vaguer than ever, the odds of finding her against him. Will Margo Roth Spiegelman ever be found? Are her strings connected with Q's? 13 Litttle Blue Envelopes by Maureen Johnson

Ginny Blackstone, the normal "Plain Jane" American girl from New Jersey was given a huge task to complete. Ginny's Aunt Peg, who she considered to be amazing and adventurous, died of a brain tumor. Ginny never really accepted that her aunt was dead, but more in fact that she was gone. Aunt Peg was a striving artist who was always broke, traveling from place to place, and somehow getting by. Ginny thought that Peg was so interesting, but she could never be unless her aunt was with her (or so she thought).

Before Aunt Peg died, she wrote thirteen letters, sealed in thirteen little blue envelopes, addressed to Ginny. In each envelope was a task to complete in a foreign country. Some envelopes told her to go places; others told her to meet new people. After she followed Peg's directions in an envelope, she was allowed to open the next.

All of Ginny's traveling takes place in Europe. She is not allowed to bring anything with her that won't fit in her backpack. Ginny was not allowed to take guidebooks, money, or "electronic crutches." Aunt Peg had thought all of this through. So what is the point of this? What is Aunt Peg really trying to tell Ginny? Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins

Hello everyone! So I have continued the Hunger Games series, and I hope you have too!

Katniss and Peeta are back in the second book, and they need to stay "under the radar." The stunt Katniss pulled with the berries in the arena could affect Peeta, her friends, and family in terrible ways. There is no hiding now. President Snow tells Katniss to make sure that everyone is convinced that the "star-crossed lovers" are in fact, still in love. The Victory Tour that Katniss and Peeta go on could also affect their audience in ways unimaginable.

The Hunger Games are also back with the Quarter Quell, which marks another twenty-five years of the Hunger Games. Every Quarter Quell is played differently than the traditional Games. This year is the seventy-fifth Hunger Games, so some twist is in store.

In this book, the plot leads you into one direction, and then takes a swift turn into another. So many cliffhangers are used in this book, which makes it hard to stop reading. The ending will draw you into the last book in the trilogy, which hasn't come out yet. Once it does, if you are like me, you will want to get your hands on that story!

I have not posted about school and my "exciting" day for a long time, so I decided to keep this blog strictly to my book summaries/reviews. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

Hi everybody! So after the Percy Jackson series, I read the first book in The Hunger Games trilogy. In case you can't figure out the title, it's The Hunger Games. I really liked this book, and I have the second one, so that will be my next post. I hear that Suzanne Collins' last book has not come out yet, but when it does, don't worry, I will write about it, too.

So in what used to be known as North America are twelve districts. There used to be thirteen, but well, some things happened....Anyways, some of the districts are pretty well off, with food and nice things. Others, not so much. District 12 does not have much, and this is where Katniss (aka Catnip) is from. She lives with her mother and younger sister, Prim. Katniss' father died a few years back from a coal mine explosion, and things have never been the same.

Every child aged twelve through eighteen enters their name in a bowl for participation in a 'little game' to remind everyone that the Capitol has control. There are two bowls in each district, one for boys and one for girls. Every year, one name is picked from every bowl in the district, having a total of twenty-four names. These twenty-four people become tributes for the Hunger Games.

During the Hunger Games, the twenty-four tributes battle against each other in an arena for survival. Their battle is broad casted to every district for those at home to watch. There are not many rules in the games. The most important is that the last living tribute is the winner.

Katniss has entered her name multiple times in the District 12 bowl. The more you enter your name, the more tesserae you will receive. This puts you at a disadvantage because now, you have a better chance of being a tribute. BAD THING. Katniss is worried about her friend and herself because their names are entered multiple times. Katniss doesn't even worry about her sister, Prim, who entered her name once. The odds are not in her favor on this day. Prim is chosen as a tribute. Katniss volunteers herself so her sister would not need to participate in the Games. This is a very unlikely occurrence. The boy chosen is Peeta Mellark.

What will happen to the two? Will Katniss ever make it home to her sister and mother?

Percy Jackson & The Olympians: Book Five: The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan

Hello everyone!!!!! I have finally finished the Percy Jackson series, but I will admit, I'm going to miss it. =[ I have been reading the series since December (I think) and it will feel different to read another book. This was my absolute favorite book in the series! I hope you all like(d) it as much as I did!

So Percy is back for the last time and the prophecy involving a sixteen year old demigod and Kronos is coming true!!! Kronos and his army are invading Manhattan and it is up to the half-bloods to put a stop to him. However, Kronos seems to know the demigods' weaknesses because a spy has been keeping him posted. The spy is a camper at Camp Half-Blood. Who would do this? Throughout the book, some try to warn Percy of what will happen, and twists and turns occur everywhere. Some play unsuspecting roles in the war that could change everything. And who is the Last Olympian??? Will Kronos get Percy to surrender to him?

And by the way, what most of you wanted to happen in the first book happens in the last book =]

Percy Jackson & The Olympians: Book Four: The Battle of the Labyrinth by Rick Riordan

Second post of the day!!!!

So now, Percy Jackson is a freshman, and his orientation isn't exactly what he expected. A familiar face and monster cheerleaders are not really what anybody expected. School hasn't even started, and Percy is already thought of a delinquent after an unusual occurrence. Percy goes back to Camp Half-Blood and the war between the Olympians and Kronos becomes sooner. The camp will even be overrun if Percy and his friends can't do anything. Annabeth leads a quest through the Labyrinth to find Ariadne's string, and Daedalus, the creator of the Labyrinth before Luke does. If he finds it, he can be one step closer to helping Kronos overthrow Olympus. But will they make it? Annabeth cannot do this alone, and that is where her friends come in. Even the unexpected help out, which surprises everyone. This fourth book is amazing with so much suspense and unexpected turns!

Percy Jackson & The Olympians: Book Three: The Titan's Curse by Rick Riordan

So hello everybody!!!! I have got two, and I mean TWO, posts to make today, because I finished TWO books since I lasted posted. I know it has been awhile, but here goes nothing...

So Percy, Annabeth, and Thalia received a distress call from Grover. Grover figures out that there are two half-bloods in the area whose parents are not known. Meanwhile, Artemis, goddess of the hunt, is "kidnapped." Annabeth also finds herself in a predicament along the way. So where is Artemis? What happened to Annabeth? And what's the deal with Kronos? Kronos is still out there, still plotting, and is coming back piece by piece. Percy and his friends do things unimaginable in this third book to save the world. Difficult choices are made with surprising turns around each corner.

So I hope you like the book!!!!

Percy Jackson & The Olympians: Book Two: The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan

Hey people!!! It's a snow day, and I have a lot of time, and I finally finished The Sea of Monsters! I had this book report to do and I had to take notes of the book, which made the book less interesting. It took me about like two and a half months, but I finally finished! Let's see if I actually remember everything...

So Percy is back in the second book with his friends Annabeth and Grover. Thalia's tree is dying, which protects Camp Half-Blood's borders from monsters. Her tree was poisoned, and its powers are weaking. Chiron, the camp's director, was held responsible for the poisoning, so he was fired. Tantalus, the new camp director of Camp Half-Blood, replaces so Chiron. Also, Grover is contacting percy through his dreams, and telling him that he is in trouble. Percy and Annabeth disobey Tantalus and leave camp to save Thalia's tree and Grover. Throughout this book, Percy learns surprising things about himself, his friends, and his enemies. I hope you guys enjoy this book as much as I did!

Mid-Terms Over!!!

As you can tell by my title, MID-TERMS ARE OVER!!!! That just gives me a huge relief because well frankly, I did not like them very much. So I'm posting because I am ecstatic (like 'ecstatic'? I do!) that mid-terms have ended.

So the one thing I liked about mid-terms was that I could get out of school early....and I mean REALLY early. The downside to that is that when I got home REALLY early, I got to continue studying for the next mid-term. :(

So yay they are over!!!

I don't know and I'm sorry people. Nothing is really on my mind.

We're The Mesopotamians

Hi peoples!!! I was on Facebook taking quizzes, and from what I learned, I have never listened to the radio, I am mute, and my lucky color is good (yellow). Apparently, you can get a 60% on a lucky color quiz. :\

Oh and in history review after school and in class, we listened to the Mesopotamian song by They Might Be Giants. If you look up on Youtube, type in Mesopotamia Song, and click on the second video. The sung has been stuck in my head for two days now, so I put it on my IPod. That and P-P-Poker Face.

So I don't have much to say...so I'm sorry. :\
